The Manager, Corporate Nutrition Services plays a pivotal role in supporting dietary operations across multiple behavioral health facilities. This position ensures continuity of leadership during manager absences, oversees the onboarding and training of new dietary managers, conducts monthly quality assurance activities, and performs routine site visits with comprehensive kitchen inspections to uphold food safety and operational standards.
Essential Functions:
- Provide corporate Director, Nutrition Services or Manager, Nutrition Services coverage and support.
- Serve as interim Director or Manager, Nutrition Services at various facilities during planned or unplanned absences.
- Maintain consistent dietary operations, staffing, and compliance during coverage periods.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to ensure seamless transitions and support.
- Develop and implement training & onboarding for Director or Manager, Nutrition Services
- Lead the onboarding process for new Director or Manager, Nutrition Services, including orientation, systems training, and policy education.
- Develop and deliver training materials tailored to behavioral health dietary operations.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and performance feedback to new managers.
- Oversee corporate food service quality assurance and compliance
- Conduct monthly quality audits across assigned facilities, focusing on food safety, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and documentation.
- Analyze audit results and collaborate with site teams to implement corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health department standards.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled site visits to assess kitchen operations, cleanliness, food storage, and staff practices.
- Complete detailed inspection reports and share findings with facility and corporate leadership.
- Recommend improvements and follow up on action plans to ensure sustained compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a healthcare dietary department is desirable.
- Must have nationally approved Food Safety Manager Certification.
- Current enrollment in ANFP approved CDM-CFPP course, eligible to sit for the ANFP approved CDM-CFPP certification exam, or currently certified as CDM-CFPP, DTR, or RD required. If not CDM certified must be willing to and be successful in obtaining such CDM-CFPP or higher credential within 1 year of hire date.
- Must meet all other requirements as required by federal and state laws.
Skillls / Abilities:
- Must be able to read and write. Good communication skills needed.
- Demonstrate understanding of food safety principles and sanitation regulations.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of patient centered nutrition care needs in the behavioral health care setting including, but not limited to therapeutic diets, allergies, and modified textures.
- Courtesy, adaptability, strong writing skills and medical terminology preferred. CPR certified.
- An Oceans Healthcare approved behavioral health de-escalation program.
Work Environment:
Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to work environment. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
