The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the finance and accounting team and report to the Vice President of Accounting.  This position will be responsible for the operational accounting and analysis for a group of our hospitals, certain corporate shared services accounting functions and other areas of accounting and administration.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Completes full-cycle month end close process for assigned hospitals and corporate and shared services departments.
  2. Maintain the monthly prepaid amortization schedule and assist in the analysis and recording of entries associated with prepaid assets.
  3. Analyze and calculate equity entries related to assigned joint venture hospitals, including but not limited to NCI, management fee, equity distributions and capital calls.
  4. Assist in the analysis and recording of entries associated with lease accounting, as needed.
  5. Performs financial statement analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and accrual accounting.
  6. Communicates and works with administrators and other operational personnel for assigned hospitals and corporate departments.
  7. Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

Educational / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience full cycle month end close process, account reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Healthcare or multi location experience highly preferred
  • Experience with accounting for joint ventures

 

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Ability to assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced structured corporate environment
  • Mid-level to advanced Excel skills required
  • ERP experience required, Intacct experience is a plus
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

 

Work Environment:

Subject to many interruptions.  Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.  Can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere.  Requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
